Indigenous Reference Group – Call for Members

The BC College of Social Workers is looking for RSWs and RCSWs to participate on the Indigenous Reference Group. The Indigenous Reference Group provides cultural perspectives and knowledge to the Board on various initiatives and programs related to the College’s mandate of public protection. The work of the Reference Group is guided by an Elder who is a Registered Social Worker. There will likely be three meetings throughout the year, held either by teleconference or in person.


Indigenous Social Workers are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly those from Northern and/or rural areas are particularly encouraged to submit their expression of interest. The College will pay reasonable travel and accommodation expenses incurred by members engaged with the work of the College.

  • Do you work or volunteer in an urban, rural or mixed practice setting?
  • What field of social work do you practice in?
  • Do you self-identify as Indigenous?
