Alysha Brown is Swampy Cree from Northern Manitoba on her mother’s side and English on her father’s side. She has lived on beautiful Coast Salish territory for the past 15 years and loves her home in Victoria. She currently is employed as a Guardianship Social Worker for Surrounded by Cedar Child and Family Services and works with Indigenous children in continuing care. She is presently completing a Master of Social Work in the Indigenous specialization program at the University of Victoria. She is honoured to be part of the TDRR group and is hopeful for the future of Indigenous Social Work practice.
